Obama Critics: I am Confused, I Thought We Were Racist!

There are several narratives that will be repeated by the media throughout the 2012 Presidential Election (in large part because they lack any imagination or desire to be real journalist):  Racist, divisive, things are getting better, things were terrible before BO, BO is the smartest person in the room, and Republicans are protectors of the 1%…yada, yada, yada. But quite possibly the best yarn that will be spun will be that the critics of President Obama are (wait for it)…………..dumb.

How we manage to get up every morning and get ourselves dressed, then somehow make it through the day without sticking a fork in our eye, is beyond me.

Let’s just call this story what it is…media elitism. It is nothing more than tripe meant to appease those that lack the ability to present a cogent argument;  it is an attempt to self-placate by a media outlet that abandoned their integrity long ago.

Fortunately, people like Sarah Palin are out there keeping the story in perspective: ‘Trig Truther’ behind the ‘dumb’ story.

It seems almost impossible to believe, but the upcoming issue of Newsweek has a cover story entitled “Why Are Obama’s Critics So Dumb?”

The Weekly Standard’s Mark Hemingway wrote a few hours ago, “If in recent years it seems as if Newsweek has been descending into self-parody, it’s still hard to imagine that this is real.”

Indeed.

Is there anything the mainstream media won’t do to get Obama reelected?

*****Update: Politico has some excerpts from the not yet published article…

“[I]t remains simply a fact that Obama has delivered in a way that the unhinged right and purist left have yet to understand or absorb. Their short-term outbursts have missed Obama’s long game … [T]he president begins by extending a hand to his opponents; when they respond by raising a fist, he demonstrates that they are the source of the problem; then, finally, he moves to his preferred position of moderate liberalism and fights for it without being effectively tarred as an ideologue or a divider. This kind of strategy takes time. And it means there are long stretches when Obama seems incapable of defending himself, or willing to let others to define him, or simply weak. I remember those stretches during the campaign against Hillary Clinton. I also remember whose strategy won out in the end.”
